XAS VX (Ace)

Hey everyone,

Exciting news from Moghunter for all you RPG Maker VX fans out there; XAS, our beloved ABS, will soon be getting a VX makeover. This release will include all the main features seen in previous XP releases.

Update: VX release now available: Merry Christmas :D

    I downloaded the new version of XAS. I was wondering is the party system available? The video showed the party system.

      Yeah, there’s a new Video for the XAS-Ace showing the Party system… there’s a completely new section dedicated to the 2 version of XAS for VX and VX-Ace, but also MogHunter has completely freeze his news on the XP version, it seams like he’s focusing on the new versions for RGSS2 and RGSS3… what’s the meaning of this?
      Can someone tell us more? I was expecting to see the XAS4.0 for XP first… but now i’m not much sure of this…

      Hmm, que estranho eu não consigo reproduzir o erro aqui, o alvo que recebe dano sempre será empurrado em direção oposta da ferramenta (skill), você ainda pode verificar a passabilidade de 4 direções de seu mapeamento, em ultimo caso poste uma screen e uma pequena demo reproduzindo o erro para que possamos ajuda-lo.

    Just wanted to report another bug, i think it is anyways. I assume sticky or hold target is meant to act like a homing missile. However, neither one of the, do that.

      Actually, “stick target” makes the tool to attach in enemies at contact.
      It works fine at XP version.

      Thanks. In xp what I was looking for was called “guide” that is what follows the target. I don’t think it was implemented in the VX version.

    Thanks Calvin. I am progressing well with the game. I have been waiting for XAS to hit VX for a long time. I have a good chunk of the random treasure system done. Humanoid creatures like bandits, goblins, orcs, etc.. can use different weapons and each creature has its own specific loot table. I have also adapted the grid inventory system into the game to make it look similar to Ultima’s backpack. I am also bringing fog of war into the game so exploration will be more interesting! Here is the latest screenshots:

    Here is my first video of LOE (Ultima Version). It is using XAS for VX. All of the Ultima VIII game mechanics are in place.

    I found a little bug. There is no way to set the collection of multiple items. EX: 5 x arrows. In xp you set it in the script. There is no option in the VX version.

      Great, thanks Richard – I’ll be sure to pass it on. Not only will Moghunter likely release an update to VX once all errors/opinions are in but it’ll also likely help in the production of the VX Ace version aswell.

      Just out of curiosity. Do you know if Moghunter will be adding the on screen party members to the VX version? I am creating a game that resembles Ultima VIII style combat but set in a Ultima VII-like world. Having those party members would be very essential. So far I have created quite a bit including the Ultima game mechanics. I will post some screenshots soon.

      Can’t say for sure. If he expands in any VX format it’ll be VX Ace that I’m guessing he’ll use.

    Moghunter will still be updating the XP version right? Or will his focus be on VX?

      Hey Rikaku,

      There’s no need to worry. As far as I can tell Moghunter will only be fixing any MAJOR errors with the VX version of XAS and releasing a new VX Ace version shortly.

      Whether he’ll continue to support XAS VX Ace I do not know but XAS 4 (XP) will be released – whether it’ll be the final installment for XP or there will be further releases, I don’t know.

    Maybe it is me, but I can’t seem to find a way to find the front, back, sides direction guard for creatures.

    This is what I am waiting for! XAS is good, but I just can’t stand using Rpg Maker XP. I am sure the performance will be much better in VX as well.
