So unless you’ve had your head buried in the sand for the passed week you probably know that megaupload has been closed down, as a result a lot of the site’s downloads are non-responsive.

Luckily Richard has done a great job of cataloguing most of the script downloads which makes this process so much easier.

Update: A fair chunk of the scripts are now available for download. I’ve tracked down a few others, I may email the submitters if I can’t get the content any other way. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Exciting news from Moghunter for all you RPG Maker VX fans out there; XAS, our beloved ABS, will soon be getting a VX makeover. This release will include all the main features seen in previous XP releases.

This is really a follow up to my last entry but I thought it warranted it’s own post.

Everyone who submits to the site will receive a Unique ID. Using this ID they’ll be able to see a list of their own submissions, resulting in a link to their own online catalogue that can be linked to on forums or used in their signature etc.

This feature will also allow users to filter by their favourite script writer or demo maker, pretty cool huh?

Today marks what I hope will be a big change to the site that’ll make life easier for XAS users and developers alike.

Throughout the RPG Maker XP community people struggle to find the resources they need, searching endlessly for …

compatible scripts that will help further the development of their game
demos that will show them how to achieve certain results
tutorials that will teach them how to use different systems

the solution

The aggregation of XAS scripts, demos and tutorials in one place. My hope is to create an almost app store ‘esque’ experience; making it a simpler and more enjoyable task for you to find content.

what I require

The support of script developers and demo contributors alike. As well as the support and the demand for such a thing by you and other XAS users.

how do you submit your script or demo?

Submitting to the site has never been easier, simply click on Submit in the menu bar and complete the form.

what do you get in return?

An entire page on XAS Tutorials made free for you to outline your script or demo and it’s functions as well as instant feedback from XAS users (using comments and/or the star rating system) and optional email alerts to any error feedback.

Moghunter has kindly awoken from his hibernation (albeit, temporarily) to release this new video and a couple of XAS 4 screenshots.

XAS 4 will support 3 interchangeable Action modes:

Normal Mode
Similar to XAS v3.91 but includes the Party System
Like: Secret of Mana and Zelda
Focus Mode
Side scrolling will stop when enemies are nearby and a battle will commence
Like: Legend of Mana, Star Ocean and Chrono Trigger
Platformer Mode
Introduces a gravity system
Like: Super Mario Bros and Castlevania

Moghunter has created a XAS based shoot ‘em up for all of you to have a look and play around with.

There is currently only one level so feel free to create your own levels, make your own versions and upload your games for others to play with.
